Fountain Square
(Sights & Activities - Sightseeing)
5th and Vine St
Cincinnati OH 45202
513-621-4400
Description:
DOWNTOWN. This longtime plaza was redesigned in 2006 to open it up to the surrounding city and incorporate it more completely into civic life. A woven granite base unifies all elements, including sense-engaging planter boxes, a seasonal ice-skating rink, an LED video board, a kid-friendly water wall, and the much-loved, perennial Tyler Davidson Fountain. Groves of trees and lush plantings add softness, and reconsidered lighting and sound ensure the plaza's continued role as a site for concerts and performances. Free WiFi is an added attraction, as is a spiffy, new underground parking garage.

John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge
(Sights & Activities - Sightseeing)

Cincinnati OH

Description:
DOWNTOWN. Opened in 1866, this impressive bridge was the first to cross the Ohio River, connecting the bustling city of Cincinnati to its neighbors in Kentucky, and it continues to be a much-loved city landmark. If the name John A. Roebling sounds familiar, it should. After he constructed the Cincinnati bridge, he went on to design the world-famous Brooklyn Bridge.
